The book's inscribee was Columbus, Mississippi resident Edward Lee Kuykendall (1885-1946) who owned a local movie house but was also involved in film production and headed two movie industry trade groups - the Association of Motion Picture Theater Owners and Exhibitors and the Motion Pictures Producers Association;
