Signed by the author, with a dedication to the recto of front endpaper, 'E F Bathurst with love and kindest wishes from the author, 7 august 1923'. There are annotations by the author to page 22 making some corrections to the margins. Collated, complete with a frontispiece and thirty one plates. Illustrators to this work are Finlay Mckinnon, V R Balfour-Browne and Frank Wallace. Photographs to this work are by Lady Anne Murray, The Author, Noel Wills, Philip Stretton, J Wolf, Diana Darling and Mrs Schroder. The author of this work, Sir Hugh Fraser, was a regular contributor of sport and natural history articles to various periodicals. Fraser was the proprietor of Stromeferry estate, Ross-shire. He was a judge of the High Court and was knighted in 1917. To this work, Fraser discusses salmon fishing, deer stalking, fauna in the forest, high hills and more. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart with bumping to the head and tail of spine as well as to the extremities. Author's inscription to the recto of front endpaper.
