The author has combined a life of scholarship and pastoral service with a life of adventure and action. After attending St. Dunstan's College, he had a season on a Norwegian whaler sailing in the Arctic, then joined the Mission to Seamen in Rotterdam, before being posted to Dunkirk. He became a curate and in 1939, when war began, he was commissioned as an army chaplain, serving in France, returning disabled and receiving the 'King's Badge'. From 1947-1970 he was rector of St. Mary's, Barcombe, Lewes, East Sussex. A useful and brightly written work that clarifies what Christians really do believe. R4 Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
