This booklet is x-library, and is attached to the publisher's cloth binding with old cellophane tape, later cloth spine. Note: offered "as is", not subject to return, Wecker was a foremost clinical ophthalmologist, and connected with the "de Wecker scissors". In the 1880s, he he co-edited a complete treatise on ophthalmology, in four volumes [ see Garrison-Morton 5th, 5919]. This work explores the work of Viennese professor, Eduard Jäger von Jaxtthal. Jäger made improvements to eye chart test types that were earlier developed by Heinrich Küchler. The text here repeat the eye charts in French, German, English, Spanish, and Italian, with Notes. Also Tableau Photometriques by de Wecker and Masselon (laid in are their plates 4, 5, 6, 7, 8). There are two musical plates (one of Chopin's Nocturnes Choisis).

La première a paru en 1877. Cet ouvrage contient 27 tableaux servant à mesurer l'acuité visuelle, en plusieurs langues, et, à la fin, 4 planches dont une en couleurs pour mesurer l'acuité chromatique et 2 partitions musicales. Il s'insère dans un portefeuille où sont jointes 6 planches volantes, numérotées 1-2, 4-6 et 8 (il manque les planches 3 et 7) d'échelles métriques et photométriques. Louis de Wecker (1832-1906) étudia l'ophtalmologie à Wurtzbourg et s'établit à Paris en 1862. Il y acquis la réputation d'un excellent praticien et écrivain. Il est l'inventeur d'un pince-ciseaux pour la division de la cataracte et d'un double crochet pour le strabisme ; il a préconisé la sclérotomie pour le traitement du glaucome et il mit au point le procédé d'avancement capsulaire pour le strabisme en 1883 ; enfin, il inventa une nouvelle méthode d'énucléation. Bon exemplaire.
