A 27 year old novelist. Bibi Wein divides her teenagers into three groups: the dopers, the street dwellers, and the political radicals. What ties them together, inevitably, is their sense of being out of place and out of tune. They are strangers everywhere. One typical "doper" in Pennsylvania describes his decision to drop out this way: "Everyone thought I left Kentwood because I was too smart for the system. Actually, I left out of fear.
