Kitty Wells (Ellen Muriel Deason, 1919-2012) was the first female country singer to record a number one hit with "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels." She marrried Johnny Wright when she was 18, and went on to perform with him (and sometimes their children) along with her solo career. A member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, she has been called The Queen of Country Music.
