Green cloth-covered boards with pictorial onlay on upper panel and gilt lettering front and spine. 8vo. Boards are moderately worn, rubbed around spine and on rounding corners, bruised at spine tips, with a few scattered small marks. Text block edges dull and dark. Internally a hint of occasional spotting and a little creaminess to pages else neat, clean and tight. A light-hearted volume from the novelist H G Wells, in which he insists that the best games for children require floor space, and describes a number of games including those played with toy soldiers and toy trains.
