Francis De Sales ''Frank, F.D.'' Casey (1882-1934) was the Art Director for Collier's from 1913 to 1918 and then went to work for Charles Dana Gibson as the Art Director for Life magazine. In 1917, Casey was appointed to the government's Division of Pictorial Publicity, under Gibson's leadership, which produced propaganda posters for the war effort. Jimmy is in his father's study, sitting before the fireplace, and travels with his dog through the flames into several adventures in imaginary worlds. Verse by the New York poet and magazine editor Charles Hanson Towne (1877-1949) and illustrated by H. Devitt Welsh (1888-1942). Signed by Author(s).
