They have very little wear, a light crease off the front bottom corner and some crinkling at the spine ends. The page edges are perfectly clean. The spine is very slightly slanted forward. The book is very solidly from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout. There are no binding issues. The pages are in excellent shape. I don't see any soiling anywhere. I'm not seeing any creasing of any kind. There are no markings. No attachments. And with the exception of Ms. Welter's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. It too is perfectly clean. It too has only a minimum of wear, some crinkling at the top edge of the spine. The flaps are in very good condition, perfectly clean. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. It will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. Translated from the German Wikipedia: "Erich Welter (* June 30, 1900 in Strasbourg, June 10, 1982 in Frankfurt am Main) was a German journalist and economist. Erich Welter studied from 1918 to 1922 law and political sciences and a doctorate in 1922, From 1920 to 1932 he was business editor of the Frankfurter Zeitung, 1932-1934 editor in chief of Vossische newspaper in Berlin. He resigned on March 31, 1934 under pressure from the Nazis. From 1935 to 1943 he was again on the editorial board of the Frankfurter Zeitung, whose business section he led to the closure of the paper in 1943. Welter, the assessor at the Press Court in Berlin and had belonged to the Academy of German Law, was used in the war in the planning office of the Reich Ministry for Armaments and War Production. In 1946 he founded together with Curt E. Schwab in Stuttgart, the German newspaper and business magazine, but had to withdraw as a shareholder, since the American occupation authority having regarded him as damaged goods. On November 1, 1949, he was then next to Hans Baumgarten, Erich Dombrowski, Karl Korn and Paul Sethe one of the founders of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, until 1980, he recorded as a publisher. From 1978 until his death he was sitting in front of the shareholders' meeting. In 1944 he was appointed associate professor in the University of Frankfurt. From 1948 until his retirement in 1965 he taught as a professor of economics at the University of Mainz. Since 1951 he also directed the co-founded by his research institute for economic policy and published the publications of the Institute.
