Die Karte und die Figurentafeln zu Werkleins Werk "Untersuchungen über den Dienst des Generalstabs; oder über das Detail bei der Führung der Kriegsheere". Die große Kupferstichkarte mit 3 Plänen zeigt die Umgebungen von Pordenone, Budoja, St. Laucia, Castel d'Aviano, Dardago etc. Mit der Anmerkung: "Die römischen Lapidar Lettern, zeigen die tirol. Caval., die current Lettern die tirol. Infanterie, die römischen Ziffern die ital. Caval., die arabischen Ziffern die ital. Infanterie an. Die Truppen-Stellungen des ersten Tages sind mit rückwärts liegender Druck- die des zweiten Tages mit currenter Schrift beschrieben". Joseph Freiherr von Werklein (1777 - gest. 1829; nach einer anderen Quelle erst 1849) trat im Juli 1784 zur militärischen Ausbildung in die Wiener-Neustädter Akademie, aus welcher er im August 1794 zu Erzherzog Ferdinand-Infanterie Nr. 1 als Fähnrich ausgemustert wurde. Aus diesem Regimente kam er, stufenweise vorrückend, im September 1805 als Hauptmann in den General-Quartiermeisterstab und nach wiederholten Versetzungen in Infanterie-Regimenter 1809 wieder als Hauptmann in denselben zurück, in welchem er noch im selben Jahr zum Major und 1813 zum Oberstlieutenant befördert wurde, worauf er 1819 als Oberst in den Ruhestand trat. In diese 25jährige aktive Dienstzeit fallen mehrere Feldzüge, welche er mit Auszeichnung mitmachte.- Die Karte und die Figurentafeln stellenweise minimal fleckig.…
