Known as a skilled reproductive engraver, he interpreted works by artists such as Marie-Guillemine Benoist, Vincenzo Camuccini, Claude-Louis Desrais, Charles Le Brun, Nicolas Poussin, Raphael, Rubens, and Veronese. His oeuvre spans religious, historical, allegorical, and decorative subjects. His works are held in major collections including the BnF, Louvre, ENSBA, Albertina, and others. He also taught pupils such as Jean Geoffroy (b. 1793). Condition: fair, given age. Damage (fold line, tears and thin paper spots) from previous framing at c. 2 cm from the edges.
