Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Oblong 12mo measuring 5.5" x 4". String-tied brown leather with "photographs" stamped in gilt on the front board. Contains 42 sepia-toned or black and white gelatin silver photographs measuring most measuring 2.25" x 3.25" with some captions. Very good photo album with worn corners and rubbing with near fine photographs. A photo album of 1920s small format photographs presumably taken with a Kodak pocket camera. The photographs were taken between 1922 and 1924 in Massachusetts and show snapshots of the Wildes' family including a new baby posing around their family home. They appear to have been kept by Barbara Wildes, a young girl in the family who was interested in amateur photography who includes captions such as "my house 1923" and the names of friends and relatives. She also photographed events around town including a parade with photos of floats going down the main street. The pocket Kodak No. 1 series was popular between 1922 and 1931 and was a "folding A120 film camera" which used "autographic rollfilm" produced by Eastman Kodak. An interesting collection of vernacular Kodak photographs taken by a young girl with amateur photographer ambitions.
