2 pp, on the first leaf of a bifolium of gilt-edged watermarked laid paper. Leaf dimensions 30 x 19 cm. Text clear and entire. On lightly aged, worn and creased paper. The king's signature is in the top left-hand corner of the first page, above the royal seal, which is embossed on a folded square of paper over red wax. The seal covers the downstroke from the 'g' of 'George' and the final stroke of the 'R' in the royal signature. The document carries three blind-stamped 2s 6d tax stamps in the left-hand margin of the first page. Giving Tonyn leave 'to come into this Our Kingdom of Great Britain for Dispatch of some Affairs of his own, which require his Presence here'. Docketed on reverse of second leaf 'Charles Tonin, Leave to come to Great Britain'.

Frontier Spirit, was finished in four different versions, the present copy is one of the finest of all the editions elegantly bound by Harcourt Bindery of Boston in full Harmatan Nigerian Goatskin, raised bands, spine lettering gilt, small color plate mounted to front cover titled "Downing the Nigh Leader" by Frederic Remington, red endpapers, 264p., fully illustrated with 129 full color plates including 6 tipped in. William Foxley is one of five known collector's of major Western Art. For the past 35 years, Bill Foxley, a cattleman, industry innovator and art collector has been acquiring American Western art that spans a period of over 125 years.
