Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. Neil Austin, Herman King, Lin Carter (illustrator). 1st Edition. Los Angeles: Gus Willmorth, 1949. Volume III, No. 4, the February, 1949 issue of Fantasy Advertiser. Cover by Neil Austin; interior art mostly by Herman King in this issue, with one full-page ad art by Lin Carter. Octavo, stapled wraps, 27 numbered pages. Near Fine copy, with only the inevitable modest toning to the paper and lightly red-penciled previous owner's note at cover top (see scan). High grade. Very sharp, undamaged copy. An early copy of the fanzine; mostly ads, book lists, book reviews, and in this issue, a Gus Willmorth editorial, info on the Seventh World Science Fiction Convention, article "Nova Tomes" by Walt Liebscher reviewing the latest Shasta offering, and a very lengthy (for a fanzine) Edgar Allan Poe piece by Herman King, "Poe / Master of Macabre", also illustrated by King. A classic issue from a fanzine classic from the golden age of sci-fi, replete with ads, sale and auction notifications, publications notices, and more - all focused on science fiction, fantasy and horror, of course.
