Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. I think it can be pretty neat when a professional turns their hand to fiction writing in order to write a novel about their particular field. There are attorneys, doctors, actors and chefs who write novels about their areas of expertise. There are na…turalists, explorers, sailors and athletes who write about their specialties. There are, of course, plenty of novelists who write stories about writers. Here we have a novel about an engineer, written by an electrical engineer. Mr Willner (1925 - 2004) held a number of patents for things like a magnetic field intensity measuring device with frequency change indication (OK, I copied that bit!), but has managed to write a novel that one reviewer called "engrossing, with penetrating insight and communicative warmth". The edges of the textblock are a little browned, top corners and base of spine minimally bumped and worn, but a very good copy indeed in very good dust jacket indeed with minor rubbing and edgewear. Uncommon book.
