Softcover. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Side-stapled, newsprint periodical with cover photograph of a howling wolf titled, "The Call of the Wild.". Some light, general wear (two short closed tears) along with light, flattened folds from mailing and expected toning. There is a red stamp on the front with the date, Feb 27 1945. This was a general-interest fan club magazine for those interested in Western entertainment, including music, movies, and history. There are articles on Bill Boyd (later to be Hopalong Cassidy), reviews of music, general announcements, a factual article on cattle brands, lists of fan clubs and even a short story. There are also lyrics for a wonderful end of WWII song, "We'll Write the Last Page of Mein Kampf." These fan club periodicals were ephemeral and are quite scarce today. WorldCat locates no copies of Trails of the West. ; B&W Photographs; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall; 14 pages.
