Lili Cassel-Wronker (1924-2019) wurde in Berlin geboren und gelangte mit einem Kindertransport 1938 zunächst nach Großbritannien und 1940 mit ihrer Familie nach New York. Sie studierte Kunst in Washington und New York und arbeite danach für das Time Magazin. 1947 veröffentlichte sie ihr erstes Kinderbuch. Bis ins hohe Alter arbeitete Lili Cassel-Wronker als Illustratorin und Kalligrafin und unterrichtete an einer Kunsthochschule. Ihr »London Diary« ist ein überaus kunst- und liebevoll illustriertes Tagebuch, in dem die damals 15-jährige Lili ihren Aufenthalt in London im Winter 1939/40 festhielt. Aus ihren Beschreibungen und Zeichnungen lässt sich viel über das Leben in London während des Zweiten Weltkriegs erfahren. 32 pp. Deutsch.

A collection of printers' medals is interesting not only because it offers a visual record of great printers and of events in printing history, but also because the very art of making medals is closely connected with the beginning of printing. But you knew all that, right? And if you didn't this slender volume by Erich Wronker will fill you in on all the details. Fine, but inscribed by the Wronkers to Carol Blinn 454.
