Previous owner's pencil name in the book is that of W.P. Finley, Charleston and the label is also W.P. Finley but Aiken, S. Carolina. William Peronneau Finley, 1803-1876, was the president of the College of Charleston from 1845-1857, moved to Aiken where he became its longtime mayor. He was also one of the signers in 1860 of the South Carolina Ordinance of Secession. This book, written by Dr. George F. Wurdemann, is one of the most SCARCE books on Cuba. FIRST EDITION.
