Folhas de guarda em papel decorativo marmoreado da época. Ilustrado com uma bela gravura a buril do túmulo de São Frei Gil, na capela do Convento da Ordem dos Pregadores em Santarém, que foi demolido em 1834, é por isso um documento iconográfico muito importante. Do túmulo só resta a tampa com a estátua jacente, que está no Museu Arqueológico do Carmo, em Lisboa. Exemplar apresenta algum desgaste de manuseamento nas pastas. Edição rara e a única, que foi publicada sem o nome do autor. Poema em nove cantos em oitava rima, que descreve a vida de São Frei Gil de Santarém, (Vouzela 1190 - Santarém 14 de Maio de 1265) frade dominicano, médico, taumaturgo, teólogo e pregador. Professou na Ordem de S. Domingos, quando estudava em Paris, cerca de 1225. Desempenhou as funções de provincial das Espanhas, em 1233 e 1257, assistiu ao Capítulo Geral da Ordem em 1238, na cidade de Bolonha. É autor de diversas obras entre elas o Livro de naturas, sobre medicina. Foi beatificado pelo Papa Bento XIV, em 9 de Maio de 1748. João Pedro Xavier do Monte (falecido ca. 1788) era natural de Santarém onde exercia medicina. Entre as suas obras encontram-se O Homem medico de si mesmo (1760), O Chumacinho Furtado: Epopéa jocosa (1767) e Logração da Prelasia regular de Santarem: Epopéa faceta. (1769), entre outras.
