Sie übernäht Porträtfotos und verfremdet die dargestellten Gesichter maschinell mit rhythmisierten Steppnähten, deren Linienführungen bewusst an Malerei erinnern. Teils integriert sie dabei auch traditionelle, handgeschöpfte Asienpapiere, die sich auflösen, sobald sie mit Wasser in Berührung kommen. Dadurch werden Heftfäden sichtbar und die zufällig gesetzten Nadelstiche der Stecknadeln, die das Werkstück ursprünglich zusammenhielten. Manche ihrer Arbeiten hängt sie frei im Raum auf, sodass Vorder- und Rückseite ein rätselhaftes Bildpaar ergeben. In her latest series, Rags Face, she adds sewing to her self-portraits, dirtorting her own face with rhythmic quilting stitches whose lines deliber-ately recall painting. Yoon suspends some of her works in the exhibition space so thar rhe front and back form a pair. She occasionally integrates traditional, handmade paper that dissolves as soon as it comes into contact with water, making it possible to see the connecting threads and the holes made by sewing needies that originally held the pirce together.
