Hardback. Condition: New. The people of China and its (widely differing) regions have not all benefited equally from the country's rapid increase in prosperity, and the speed and timing of increases have varied across time and space. However, China has managed to help those left behind to catch up. These outcomes reflect a speci…fic social model embedded in China's cultural and political milieu. Exploring the Chinese Social Model presents new analysis and fresh research on how China deals with unequal development and inequality in the context of its surging economic growth. The book sheds new light on the workings of China's social model, going beyond binary notions of market and state, and considers the new facets of its socialist market economy. In exploring these questions, the authors consider what is special about China and what the Chinese model is all about.

Condition: Hervorragend. Zustand: Hervorragend | Seiten: 324 | Sprache: Englisch | Produktart: Bücher | The Yangtze River is the mother river of Chinese civilization, and Yangtze River Economic Belt became China's national strategy in 2013, emphasizing ecological priority and green sustainable development. Ever since, the resear…ch on the green transformation and development of Yangtze River Economic Belt has boomed at home and abroad. Yet, there was little systematic research on the green development of the tributaries of the Yangtze River. As the largest tributary of the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, the Jialing River's eco-environmental governance is crucial for the construction of Yangtze River Economic Belt as a pioneer demonstration belt of China's ecological civilization. So, this book introduces the discourses of state leaders on eco-environmental construction, reviews the existing mechanisms of coordinated eco-environmental governance in river basins in China, and summarizes the achievements of coordinated eco-environmental governance in Yangtze River Economic Belt. Then, it studies Jialing River Basin's coordinated eco-environmental governance measures, ecological industrialization, industrial ecologization development, environment-economy-society coupling development, ecological pressure and etc. Additionally, this book compares the coordinated eco-environmental governance of the Wujiang River Basin, another tributary of the Yangtze River, and the Thames Basin in the UK. On this basis, a networked eco-environmental governance mode and implementation path in the Jialing River Basin are proposed.
