There are no credits in the book (and thus presumably unauthorized) but it was written by Preston's aunt Zoe Hoyle, identified in the original as "Z.H.," and illustrated by Preston in collaboration with George Howard-Vyse. Preston drew the Peek-A-Boo characters and backgrounds while Howard-Vyse rendered all the rabbit figures. Preston (1887-1969) was the illustrator and writer of many British children's books, most published between 1910 and 1934, when she received a substantial inheritance and more or less removed herself from public view.
