Grounded in the teachings of the Apostle Paul's epistle to the Romans, this book delves into the concept of Christian Magistracy, exploring its divine origin, character, and purpose within a biblical framework. The author contends that civil government is not merely a human invention but an institution ordained by God for the well-being of society. This exploration is situated within the historical context of the Reformation and post-Reformation era, drawing upon the insights of theologians and reformers who championed the idea of a Scriptural Magistracy. The book meticulously examines the qualifications of a Christian Magistrate, emphasizing the importance of piety, justice, and adherence to God's law. The author delves into profound theological discussions, including the relationship between Magistracy and the mediatorial Kingship of Christ, and the role of the Divine Law as the ultimate standard for civil authority. The text underscores the significance of the people's choice in constituting Magistracy, while emphasizing that this choice must align with biblical principles.
