The debate centers around the question of whether certain rites, such as ordination and the sacraments, must be conducted by those who can trace their ordination back to the apostles. Hare claimed that apostolic succession was necessary for the church to be considered legitimate. The author, on the other hand, argued that this practice was not supported by scripture and that only those who have received a genuine call from God have the authority to perform these functions. The author's arguments draw heavily on the Bible and historical events, and they provide a fresh perspective on the nature of the church and its authority. This book will be of interest to anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the foundations of Christianity and the ongoing debates surrounding its practices.
