Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the debate surrounding the integration of the Thomsonian National Infirmary into the medical landscape of Maryland. It presents the views of Dr. Williams, a prominent advocate for the established medical system, who argues against the legitimacy of Thomsonian practices. The book also includes a petition from the Thomsonian practitioners themselves, seeking legislative support for their proposed infirmary. Through these contrasting perspectives, this book explores the tensions between scientific medicine and alternative healing methods in the early 19th century, highlighting the ongoing struggle for recognition and legitimacy within the medical field. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
