It includes reports from the society's directors detailing the successes and failures of the previous year's fruit-growing efforts, illustrated with tables showing prize-winners at the Iowa State Fair. The author provides weather data and notes on insect damage, alongside recommendations on planting, grafting and cultivation, and insights into the society's wider work to introduce new fruit varieties and cultivate improved techniques in the context of the challenges of Iowa's climate.
