Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Ollie Forgot is a warm, reassuring picture book about the tangle of feelings that comes with forgetting a responsibility - and the relief of owning up. Ollie the owl has one simple job: water the class plant. But a busy week of playing and flying goes by, and by Friday the little plant is droopy and sad. Ollie's tummy fills with dread, and part of him wants to hide the wilted plant and hope no one notices. Instead, he takes a big breath, flaps over to his teacher, and tells the truth - "I forgot, and it was me." His teacher isn't angry; she thanks him for being honest and reminds him that forgetting happens to everyone. Together they give the plant a good drink and a sunny spot, and by Monday it perks right back up - teaching Ollie that mistakes can be fixed, and that saying it out loud is the bravest first step.
