Toning to spine and edges, some discoloration from binding staples; text clean. Signed with short inscription by author on front free endpaper. Additionally, a few manuscript additions have been made to the "Note About the Author" at the end, and these appear to be in Cournos' hand as well. In the introduction, he describes this work as an elegy that "is the result of continious cogitations which began sometime in 1910 or 1911 and culminated after the tragic death in 1963 of the President of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy.".
