Published by [ENGLISH: - - - Graphite drawing of a girl in the traditional costume of Nettuno, Italy (Lazio), by Swedish artist Amalia Lindegren. Unsigned and undated. Drawn in 1854/5 during her stay in Italy. Amalia Lindegren was among the very first women to study at the Academy of Arts in Stockholm, and in 1850 became the first female artist to receive a travel grant to study abroad. She spent most of that time in Paris, studying for Léon Cogniet and Jean-Baptiste-Ange Tissier, but also visited Munich and Rome before returning to Sweden in 1856.], 1856

Teckning i svart krita. Påskrift i blyerts: "Nettun". Osignerad och odaterad, men utförd i Italien 1854/55. 30 × 23,5 cm. Vattenmärke: "De Canson Frères". Bladet ngt mörknat, svag missfärgning längs nederkanten, ett par små nålhål i övre hörnen. Gammal påskrift av konstnärsnamnet på bevarat äldre stödblad, som även vid något tillfälle burit en teckning(?) av Lefrén enligt påskrift. I passepartout (yttermått 50 × 40 cm). Folkdräktsbild från Nettuno, som är beläget i Lazio vid havet omkring 7 mil söder om Rom. Vi har tidigare haft en mycket snarlik bild av Amalia Lindegren, en kritteckning med påskrift i blyerts: "Procida nära Neapel. / Ritadt av Amalia Lindegren" (33,5 x 21 cm). - - - Amalia Lindegren var en av de första kvinnor som med särskild dispens fick studera vid Konstakademien i Stockholm, och blev 1850 även den första kvinnliga konstnär att erhålla ett resestipendium. Det förde henne till Paris, där hon i fyra år studerade vid Léon Cogniets och Jean-Baptiste-Ange Tissiers damateljéer. Hon reste även söderut till München och Rom, där hon bl. a. målade genrebilder, och återvände efter ytterligare ett år i Paris till Sverige 1856. Hennes senare genre- och folklivsbilder har ofta ett sentimentalt drag, vilket helt saknas i denna fina studie.
