"Brenthurst is a busy place. As well as the running of the private homes and the considerable task of maintaining the gardens, work of many other kinds is done on the estate and it would clearly not be possible to interrupt these activities by permitting completely open access. However, Bridget and Harry Oppenheimer have always been generous in making it possible to visit the gardens by invitation.
