Seller: James Lasseter, Jr, Brooksville, FL, U.S.A.
Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: None. A 20 page pamphlet. The final page giving a brief chronology of Devils Tower National Monument from 1859 to 1963. Coverage of the famous 4th of July celebration held at the Tower in 1893. A 350 -foot ladder to the summit of the Tower had been prepared before this famous event. This was accomplished by driving pegs into cracks on the southeast side of the great formation. The building of the ladder by Rogers and Ripley was an undertaking perhaps more hazardous than the climbing of the Tower itself. People came from near and far to see this first formal ascent of the Tower on the 4th of July 1893. This copy is the 1967 revision of the 1956 original.
