    Condition: Good. No Edition Remarks. 192 pages. Spiral bound with card covers. Unique recipe book in the style of a comic. Illustrated throughout in colour. Pages remain clear with minimal tanning and foxing. A few of the spiral holes have split at the top and bottom on the front panel but the cover remains firmly attached. Slight dog earing to the bottom corner throughout. Paper cover is similarly bent at the corners. White sticker to rear cover.

Set in the post-WW2 East End of London (bombed out buildings, rationing, handsome vicars running boxing clubs, river police, etc). Vintage Mars Bar advert on back cover. The Belinda series appeared in the Daily Mirror from 1936 to 1959. Unpaginated, 32pp. Small tear top left front, back cover slightly marked and some rust around staples but in remarkably good condition for such a fragile item.

Resourcefully sectioned into chapters such as "Soups & Sauces", "Fish", "Meat", "Vegetables" and "Sweets & Puddings". Externally, smart with slight marking and discolouration. A few very minor tears where the front board has started to come away from the spine. Small chip to paper at corner of front paste down. Internally, front board coming away very slightly from spine, otherwise firmly bound. Very bright and clean with the occasional spot, heavier to the first and last few pages. Very Good Indeed. book.

Prior owner's discrete signature upon both covers and first page. Average wear and soiling. Binding intact. A sound copy.
