Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Limited Edition. This was book #416 of 432 hardback copies printed and signed by the author, JAMES RILEY. In addition, this copy is also inscribed to baseball historian and biographer, Bill Gilbert, 2/25/93, making this an unique copy. The book has 153 pages with three sections devoted to Ray Dandridge (maybe the best third baseman to play in the Negro Leagues; Leon Day (one of the best pitchers of the Negro Leagues); and the Devil-Willie Wells (possibly the Leagues best shortstop.) The section on Leon Day has 13 pages that have light yellow highlighting which does not affect the text. Otherwise the book is in very good condition. This is an essential book for anyone with an interest in the Negro Leagues. I have hundreds of signed baseball books and around 215 publications on the Negro Leagues and Black Sports and around 200 signed sport titles (mostly baseball) in stock. Discounts on postage are available on multiple purchased items. Signed by Author(s).
