Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. First Edition; First Printing. A handsome first edition/first printing in unread Fine condition in Fine dust-jacket. Signed by authors Evan Hunter and Ed McBain directly on the title page. Although their writing styles and subject matter differ radically, Evan Hunter and Ed McBain are one and the same person (taken directly from the dust jacket); In "Candyland: A Novel In Two Parts," readers journey back to the days of yore when children had to be careful not to eat the delicious candy corn that lined the cobblestone streets of the small town of Candyland. Though the candy is delicious, it is also dangerous, and the children must be careful not to get stuck in the sticky, gooey mess that lies beneath the candy corn. The second novel in the series follows the adventures of the young girl named Taffy as she tries to save her little brother from being eaten by the monsters that live in the candy corn.; 8vo; Signed by All Authors.…

Add to basketPaperback. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. 1st printing of the paperback original and true first edition of Ed McBain's 6th novel SIGNED by the late author on the title page with a black marker. Perma Books M-3113 with a cover price of 25c. An 87th Precinct Novel. McBain's first seven books were PBOs published in the U.S. by Perma Books, and this PBO predates the UK hardcover by two years. This is a remarkably well-preserved example. It is tight; the cover art is bright; and there are no reading creases on the spine or the front cover. The binding remains solid, and there are no markings by a previous owner. Shelf wear to the edges of the spine and the top and bottom edges of the front cover. The corners of the front cover and bottom corner of the back cover have softened. A short length of the red fore-edge is lighter due to moisture, and it caused minimal bleeding of red ink along the fore-edge of the final 10 pages of text. Book will be supplied in a fitted polypropylene bag. When listed this was the only autographed copy of the first edition on the site. The mass market paperback was created in 1939 by Pocket Books, a division of Simon & Schuster. Less than 100 years later, the format is being discontinued by publishers and distributors. This has led to a resurgence in the appreciation of the paperback original with original cover art. Robert Schulz (illustrator). Signed by Author(s).…
