In addition to generating a movement in human-use architectural design, *A Pattern Language* was a groundbreaking theoretical work in information linguistics, with the concept of 'Pattern Languages' credited as a major influence in Ward Cunningham's 'WikiWikiWeb,' in addition to wide influence in computer software engineering.
