Decorative Boards. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Poor. Wood, Elsie (illustrator). Seventh Edition. Bright red boards with black lettering and decorations to the spine and front panel. Some light rubbing to the edges of the boards with a small tear to the bottom corner of the spine next to the front panel. Scattered light marking to page edges with creases to the bottom corners of a few pages. Presentation copy with inscription from Bigton School in Shetland (1937) to the front free endpaper - the recipient was my mother. There is browning to the front endpapers but the pages are generally clean and unmarked. Colour frontispiece by Elsie Wood. The jacket has a two inch piece missing from the bottom left corner of the front panel and a ragged one inch closed tear to the bottom right corner. Two inch closed tear to the top edge of the rear panel. The spine has some browning and there is some staining and discolouration to the rear panel. Heavy vertical crease down the length of the rear flap. Believed to be a seventh or later edition, No. 8 in the School and Adventure Library priced at 1/6 from the mid 1930s but no publication date is given. Titles listed up to No. 51 on the rear panel.
