The book was published by Rand McNally & Company in 1946 and appears to be a First Edition though it's not specifically stated as such. It's NOT an ex-library book and the book is in very good condition with no dust jacket and laminated hard cover pictorial boards. The book is 4 3/4" by 6 3/8" and has about 26 pages with color illustrations on every page. "This Start-Right Elf Book is educationally Sound." Thank you!

Assorted artist's illustrations; Vg++; a tiny hint of foxing, but generally an extremely nice copy of a books with great animal illustrations; ; 4to 11" - 13" tall.

Very large, thinner children's book, glossy dark blue background with beautiful color-illustration of well-dressed frog and rat at center front, a baby duck at center back, pages arranged alphabetically with color-illustrations throughout, many from 18th and 19th century sources as well as early 20th century. A list of art credits at end. Slight wear to bottom front tip, spine bottom left edge. Very Good.

All pop-ups and pull-outs completely intact and in fine working order. Dust jacket, illustrated by Rich Rudish, has minimal wear to the extremities. Not price clipped, $3.50. Dust jacket now in Mylar. Overall a Near Fine, clean and bright copy of a scarce title, seldom found in dust jacket!

Original wraps. Condition: Very Good. Margaret G. Hays (illustrator). First Edition. Lovely 1913 children's alphabet book, with charming chromolithographed illustrations thruout by Margaret G. Hays. Clean and VG to VG+ in its stapled card wrappers, with light creasing along the panel edges and light wear at the spine. The text, which is sturdy and complete, has separated from its fragile stapled binding. Still though, attractive and very presentable. Folio, witty rhymed verse below each letter's "rag animal".

Condition: Very good. First printing of this giant, colorful ABC and counting book, featuring a number of unexpected animals. B is for bear, M is for monkey, and X is, of course, for xeri. This oversized alphabet book with Harrison Cady-esque illustrations makes some fascinating choices when it comes to the animal models for each letter - O is for owl, sure, but Q is for. "queer ones" that "they can't capture to put in the zoo"? C should have been for camp. 14.5'' x 9.75''. Original stiff color pictorial wrapper. Illustrated in color. [16] pages. Wrapper with light edgewear, some wear and infills to spine; several repairs to lower edges. Leaves with tiny closed tears to lower edges, carefully repaired with tape or glue; each gutter reinforced with tape. Colors bright.
