"This pamphlet contains the first motion made by the Labor Youth League at hearings before the Subversive Activities Control Board, which began November 30, 1953 in Washington.," and is "an indictment of the growing menace of fascism in our country - McCarthyism" (p. 2). The hearings were the result of a petition filed by Attorney General Herbert Brownell to proscribe the Labor Youth League under the McCarran Act. The LYL was founded in 1949 under the aegis of the Communist Party and was essentially a continuation of American Youth for Democracy. It dissolved in 1956. Stapled, illustrated wrappers (9" x 6"), 48 p., cover design + six internal illustrations by F. S. Lambert. Some edgewear, else Near Fine.
