She also became the first Australian woman to gain a commercial pilot's license. - - Growing up in country Australia, and after years of below-average school results, Jon Johanson was told by career advisers that he would achieve little. - But Jon has gone on to become the holder of over thirty world aviation records. He has made history by becoming the first person to fly an aircraft solo around the world twice. Flying east and then west, Jon also became the first person to fly solo over the world's four major oceans - in his single-engine, home-built kit plane. - Whether working as a nurse in an intensive care unit, deliveririg babies, flying or sharing his experiences, Jon Johanson is proof that everyday people can soar to great heights.
