Add to basketFirst and only edition in publisher's original wire stitched illustrated paper wrap covers [soft back], front illustration of Spitfire above the clouds against black-orange sky. Larger format 8vo. 9¾'' x 6¼''. Final monthly issue of 'Journal of the Air Forces - Eastern Front - Volume 3 No. 9 September 1945. Among others includes first title of 'Early One Morning' - two page article by Squadron Leader H. E. Bates written especially for this Journal. So he plagiarised own title in 1960's knowing no one would have remembered this his first?, not to be confused with the 1963 story of the same name which appeared in the collection 'The Wedding Party' and 'Woman's Own - The National Women's Weekly', August 3, 1963, not in Eads. Prepared under usual Top Secrecy during August, but released just after Japanese surrender signed and everyone scampering back home. Contains 44 pp including a number stories of combatant's personal experience and monochrome photographs - probably unique to this journal. In Very Good condition, no dust wrapper as issued. Member of the P.B.F.A. ROYAL AIR FORCE (RAF).
