The Aldine Autograph Album, with Decorated Spaces and Lines for Sentiment and Name, Published c. 1885-6, United States. approx. 50 pages, almost all filled with autographs & signatures. Many dated 1885-6. Seems to have belonged to and formed by Sara J. Field (of Vermont?), with her signature and date of Dec. 25, 1885 on the first blank leaf. Numerous references to Vermont from her friends and brother seen within. Many of the signatures appear to have been signed at the NH, White Mountain Grand Hotel "Profile House". Book is not new or in "new" condition. Binding gently age worn, leather and joints slightly scuffed or edge darkened, remains overall attractive as an object. Text block paper is gently toned, internally still well preserved, tight, sound. Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
