Sidney Howard received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1925 and a posthumous Academy Award in 1940 for the screenplay for Gone with the Wind. A relatively short running but important play which featured Katharine Cornell and Luther Adler in the original Broadway run. Very scarce signed Howard died in a farm accident in 1939. He was awarded a posthumous Academy Award for his screenplay for *Gone With the Wind* (making him the first writer to win both a screenplay Oscar and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama).
