Condition: VG. 1st Ed. t.p. undated but Preface dated November 1923. col.f/piece with tissue-guard+xxiii+230+4 blank leaves headed 'Notes', 23 further plates (black & white) ex-pagination, 84 text figs, 7 text diagrams; internally unmarked bar a small early sig. top front grey endpaper, otherwise clean and tight, bottom outer corner tips slightly creased for first half of textblock; Blue gilt-lettered cloth covers clean but extremities all slightly bumped/ rubbed, but bottom front outer corner has been slightly bumped and is a little more worn. Text divided into two parts: 'Historical and Descriptive' and 'Practical'. A scarce and unusual work, obviously of interest from several angles.
