First edition, first printing, one of 5,000 copies signed by the author on the limitation page. American Gods was awarded both the Hugo and Nebula awards in 2002. Gaiman, a self-described "absolute myth junkie", is renowned for his use of mythology as inspiration for his fantastical works. American Gods weaves mythological threads from across the globe into a modern Americana setting, where, crucially, the characters derive their power from belief in their existence. The novel was adapted for a TV series of the same name between 2017 and 2021. "Neil Gaiman On Writing Myths", Writers & Artists, 16 March 2018. Octavo. Original black and blue paper-covered boards, spine lettered in gilt, black endpapers. With dust jacket. Spine ends bumped, edges foxed, contents clean; jacket unclipped, extremities creased, foxing to flaps and verso, sticker on front panel: a very good copy in like jacket.

First edition, early printing of Gaiman's classic work. Octavo, original half cloth. Signed by Neil Gaiman on the title page. Fine in a near fine dust jacket. Jacket design by Russell Gordon. American Gods is Neil Gaiman's best and most ambitious novel yet, a scary, strange, and hallucinogenic road-trip story wrapped around a deep examination of the American spirit. Gaiman tackles everything from the onslaught of the information age to the meaning of death, but he doesn't sacrifice the razor-sharp plotting and narrative style he's been delivering since his Sandman days.
