Edizioni originali di studi filosofici, polemico-religiosi, di fondamentale importanza e di grande rarità. In particolare l'opera del Vanini (di Taurisano, 1585-1619), è assai nota per il contenuto e per le vicende che portarono l'autore alla condanna. Ordinato prete a Padova, poi divenuto libero pensatore panteista; ricercato dalla giustizia dopo la pubblicazione della presente opera "Amphiteatrum Aeternae Providentiae", nella quale negava l'immortalità dell'anima, vagò in Inghilterra, Germania, Francia, Svizzera e Olanda, fu arrestato a Toulouse come ateo, accusato di essere astrologo e mago, processato e condannato, amputato della lingua ed arso vivo. La presente opera venne sequestrata dall'autorità di giustizia e distrutta. Gli esemplari superstiti sono estremamente rari. Esemplare assai genuino e bello (lieve e uniforme brunitura della carta).
