Sharp's 1956 book "Ancient Voyagers in the Pacific" introduced many new theories about inter-island navigation and migration in the Pacific in ancient times, before any Europeans vessels had ventured there. His ideas and findings were controversial. In 1963 he re-presented the book, amending the title to "Ancient Voyagers in Polynesia," in which he responded to critics and added new material accumulated in the interim. This copy a 1969 reprint of the 1963 edition. 159 pages including sources list, index, 8 b/w art/photo plates, 5 diagrams, e/paper maps, double page map.
