Paperback. Condition: Good. A True Story of Art, Angels and Miracles When Reverends Keith and his wife Francesca Richardson opened their angel themed gift store, Things From Heaven, in 1995 they had only $5,000 in working capital; everyone thought they would fail. Against all odds their store flourished and became the world's most important art gallery for internationally famous angel artist Andy Lakey. Keith and Francesca were even more surprised when they found that Lakey's art opened their customers spiritually and allowed them to receive miraculous healings and messages from deceased loved ones on the other side. Doorways to Heaven recounts the Richardson's amazing journey of opening their improbable angel themed gift store (which has now been in business for over fifteen years). It also describes the medical miracles and spiritual communications they and others have experienced when they touch and pray with Andy Lakey's art. Andy Lakey is the world's most famous angel artist. His art is in the Vatican as well as collections of movie stars, political leaders and European royalty. What makes Lakey's art unique is that its paint is raised so the blind can appreciate it. Lakey donates many of his artworks to organizations for the blind throughout the world. His favorite charity is The Blind Children's Center in Los Angeles, California. In 1990, Andy Lakey received a formal request for a painting from then Pope John Paul II. The Pope wanted a piece of art at the Vatican that blind people could appreciate. The painting Lakey donated is now visited and described during many tours of the Vatican. Andy Lakey's art continues to be popular with art collectors throughout the world. It has been featured on numerous television programs including ABC's Good Morning America , Fox Television's Miracles in the Making , NBC'sAngels the Mysterious Messengers, TNN's The Life and Times of Angel Encounters and The Oprah Winfrey Show. Some of Andy Lakey's most famous collectors include: Presidents Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford, Prince Albert of Monaco, King Juan Carlos of Spain, Princess Margaret of Great Britain, King Hussein of Jordan, Kelsey Grammar, Patty Duke, Naomi Judd, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Micky Mantel, Arnold Palmer and General Chuck Yeager. Along with being internationally famous, Lakey's art is also considered to be quite spiritual. Many people who come in contact with this art initially feel a heat or tingling sensation. When actress/singer Shari Belafonte touched one of Andy Lakey's paintings on the television program Life Styles , she claimed she had felt a sensation go up her arm which felt like a burst of energy; she said she then knew there was something special about Lakey and his art. Shari went on to say that it was enduring and enlightening to see that one of the stories portrayed on TV was real.…

Condition: Fair. Luna, a YA, genre-crossing gaslight sci-fi, action adventure story, with light teen romance and a bit of steampunk thrown in for spice. Rhone moves to the big city, where the eye catching styles take a bit of getting used to, but luckily he's soon enrolled in the OPR's agent academy, learning what it takes to be an agent. Graduation comes far too soon and it's his first assignment, the small harbor town of Corgy. His front, as one of the gentry, wins him the favor of the town's folk, or most, with the exception of the mayor, who takes an instant dislike to him, and Bella, the erstwhile waitress at The Common House, but it does help him get things done. His job is to fix problems, but he wasn't expecting to include pirates. Luckily, with Stone's help, his unique friend, and Bella, who can't quite decide, he finds a very uplifting method to fix the problem. Whether he survives it is another matter.…

Paperback. Condition: Good. In an incubated petri dish in a Boston laboratory, a cluster of eight living cells holds the key to a daring new era of medical science. These cells come from a human embryo, containing genetic material from my wife, Paulina, and me, obtained through in vitro fertilization (IVF). Research using these cells holds enormous potential to cure a fatal disease, saving the lives of countless children and relieving their families of unspeakable pain. We lived that pain ourselves. When our son was born we didn't know what a tortuous road stretched ahead of us- how our baby would suffer, and how we'd suffer with him. We didn't know he'd spend nearly 1,000 days in seven different hospitals, see more than 300 doctors and swerve close do death many times. We didn't know we'd have to take matters into our own hands to find the medical miracle that would save him. Nine years ago, Paulina and I embarked on a desperate quest. We needed to create a baby with the right genetic profile, whose umbilical cord blood could save our 2-year-old son, Andy, dying from a rare genetic disease. The baby would also have to be free of the inherited disease killing our son. After three years and five IVF cycles, and with the critical intervention of a novel medical technology called pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), our daughter, Sofia, was born. Her cord blood stem cells, transplanted into her brother via blood transfusion, replaced his faulty immune system and saved his life. Today we are blessed that Andy, 11, and Sofia, 6, are both healthy, beautiful children. In gratitude, Paulina and I donated the remaining frozen IVF embryos-the ones that could never be used because they carried the flawed gene causing the disease-to the Stem Cell Research Program at Children's Hospital Boston, where Andy's disease was diagnosed and cured. Scientists there were able to develop two new stem cell lines whose unique genetic properties will help researchers learn how Andy's disease, and many others, develop. From that knowledge will come treatments and cures. My wife and I know our story and its difficult moral choices is highly controversial. We've chosen to share it to give the issue a human face and voice-and to give hope to other families facing similar dilemmas.…

Hardback. Condition: Good. A lawyer by day, Andy Carpenter's true passion is the Tara Foundation, the dog rescue organization he runs with his friend Willie Miller. So, it's frightening when there's been a break-in at the foundation building. It turns out that a recently rescued dog, nicknamed Cheyenne since her arrival at the foundation, has been stolen. Andy and Willie track the missing dog to a house in downtown Paterson, NJ and sure enough, they find the dog.right next to a dead body. The man had been murdered mere minutes before Andy and Willie arrived. Could it be coincidence? Or could the dog theft be connected to the killing? Andy takes Cheyenne safely back to the foundation building. That should be the end of his involvement, but Andy's curiosity - and his desire to keep the dog from further harm - won't let him stop there. The cops have just arrested a man named Tommy Infante for the murder, but as Andy looks into the break-in and the dog theft, he starts to wonder if Infante might actually be innocent. When Andy takes Infante on as a client and starts searching in earnest for evidence that will exonerate him, his discoveries terrify him. The murder might be just one small cog in a plot with far-reaching implications, and unless Andy can uncover the truth in time, thousands of lives could be in imminent danger.…
