With 12 Three-colour and 16 Monochrome Illustrations. With Accompaniments by Stanley Baldwin, Jack Spratt, Tom, Dick & Harry, Basil Cave, Baden-Powell, Beverley Nichols, Lord Yom-Noddy, Love Love Us!, Rudyard Kipling and OTHERS. Hardback with dust wrapper. Blue boards with cream spine and black lettering. Boards are a little rubbed at the edges. Fore edge and tail adge deckled. Head and tail of spine worn and slightly bumped. Page edges are very well discoloured-- mostly at the head edge. Free endpapers and pastedowns are discoloured due to age. Pages throughout are discoloured with a darker halo towards the edges. Binding is neat and tidy, this book is in fair condition. The dustjacket is rubbed and well thumbed at the edges. Most corners are chipped and bear the odd tear (see image). Well creased towards some edges and corners. There is a large tear at the head edge of front cover The back cover bears some scuffing and light scratches. Head and tail of spine bears some wear and tear, particularly at the head. Spine super creased and discoloured, some repairs have been made, consequently this dustjacket is described as being in poor condition. *We try to describe the faults of our books meticulously - they often present better than they sound. A very good copy sans dustwrapper but with a 2 pp. als from one of the contributors, Commander Charles Evans who has written about his friendship with the author, Estella Cave, who asked him to contribute some light verse for this volume [printed here on pg. 27]. Evans goes on to say that th i s volume ".went immediately into a second edition". Evans has also penned a presentation inscription on the ffe. Recipient's bookplate on the front pastedown.
