    Antique print titled 'Het springen van 's Landsch Oorlog Schip Alphen, in de haven van Curacao, gecommandeerd door den weledelen Gestrengen heer Kapitein G.W.H. van der Feltz, op den 15 September 1778'. This print depicts the exploding of the 'Alphen' ship at the harbour of Curacao. The ship was under command of captain G.W.H. van der Feltsz who died with his crew, only 28 people survived. Artists and Engravers: Rare edition of this print by J. Allard. Made after J. Punt. Jan Punt (1711-1779) was active as engraver, painter and actor. Condition: Good, age-related toning.
