Broschiert. Condition: Wie neu. 1a. ed. 21x30 cm. Galería de Grandes Contemporáneos. Erste Auflage, 176 p. Softcover. Rústica con sobrecubierta. Sprache: Spanisch, Fotografías b/n. Excelente estado, como nuevo. USADO / GEBRAUCHT / USED. ** 10% DESCUENTO/RABATT/DISCOUNT PRIMAVERA * excl. Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Inscribed by Marcel Cohen. First English edition, with the original text in Ladino. 5" x 7" softcover in card wraps with French flaps. 119pp. illustrated in black and white by Antonio Saura. A very good to near fine copy - little discernible wear besides a tiny white spot to spine. Pages crisp. A memoir by the French writer Marcel Cohen, originally written in Ladino - a moribund language spoken by the Jews of the Ottoman Empire and by Cohen in childhood - as an attempt to recover what he could of a language he had shared with his Sephardic family but in which he had never learned to write. Cohen later translated the text into French in 1981, but it was only brought into English by poet Raphael Rubinstein in 2006. A quasi-Proustian quest to revive his childhood not through sense, but by attempting to regain this nearly lost language. Rare in excellent condition. Inscribed by Author(s).

Add to basketThis powerful colour screen print is a characteristic example of the late graphic work of Antonio Saura, one of the most influential Spanish artists of the post-war period. The composition is animated by a dense field of abstracted, fragmented forms in intense reds, blues, yellows, and greens set against a deep black background. The work belongs to Saura?s Mutaciones series, in which figures and forms appear to shift and dissolve, hovering between figuration and abstraction. *** The screen print is hand-signed in pencil ?SAURA? at the lower right and numbered in pencil at the lower left. It is printed on Fabriano Vélin paper bearing the watermark and was published by COOB?92, Barcelona.*** The work is fully documented in the catalogue raisonné by Cramer, number 560. Sheet size approx. 76 x 56 cm *** Antonio Saura (1930?1998) was a founding member of the Spanish avant-garde group El Paso and a key figure in European Art Informel. Closely associated with post-war expressionism, his work explored themes of identity, violence, and existential anxiety through bold, gestural abstraction. Saura?s paintings and prints are held in major international museum collections, including the Museo Reina Sofía, Tate, and Centre Pompidou, and his graphic works are highly regarded for their intensity, innovation, and historical significance. # Authenticity and provenance guaranteed. # Delivered with a certificate of authenticity. # Worldwide shipping, tax-friendly to the USA and EU countries. # Custom handmade framing available on request.
